Unprocessed is an artist’s book exploring ways of presenting and discussing unimaginable horror without showing it.

The book responds to research carried out by Roelof Bakker for his peer-reviewed article ‘A Boy’s Own Trauma: Revisiting a Photograph Recorded in a Nazi Concentration Camp First Encountered as a Child’ (European Journal of Life Writing, 7 July 2020, University of Groningen Press), addressing a George Rodger photograph recorded at Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.
